i) It should support secure file transfers

ii) It has a graphical user interface so that anyone can use it with ease.

Our ultimate favorite is FileZilla and one that we use ourselves for most of our projects. It’s fast and extremely versatile in the number of simultaneous transfers it allows. Not to mention it also supports Secure FTP as well as FTPS which is file transfer protocol over secure socket layers. Also, with FileZilla, you don’t have to worry about the OS your computer uses as it provides support to almost all of them.

This Free FTP Client scores big points with us because of its minimalistic UI and ease of use. Like FileZilla CyberDuck is also an extremely versatile FTP client as it can take care of a lot of your file transfer needs. Including, SFTP, Amazon S3, WebDav, and more. Cyberduck is also available on Mac OS and Windows, you don’t need to worry about switching between FTP clients when you’re on the go. CyberDuck also gained popularity in the speed with which it handles the transfers.

If you’re looking for a file transfer protocol client that can work within a browser than FireFTP should do the trick. It’s a Mozilla Firefox add-on extension which is available right there on your browser. It will of course work on every OS that is able to run Firefox, which is all of them. Oh, and it also supports STFP and FTPS transfer to provide extra security to your files.

The only shortcoming of this excellent FTP client is that it is available only on Windows. So if you’re a Windows user then, by all means, you should be using this easy to use, fast and secure FTP client for your transfer needs. It is really special as it can deal with multiple file-transfer protocols like SFTP, SCP, Web Dev, etc. You also get a built-in text editor to help you made changes to your code on the go as well as scripting support if you really know how to work your way around the system.
